About us

Gratia Cura Residential is a dedicated specialist provision for children aged 7 to 17 years old with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can grow, thrive, and rediscover their potential.

Mission

At GCR, our mission is simple yet profound: to empower young people with EBD to overcome their challenges and flourish into confident, well-adjusted individuals. We believe in offering a safe and structured environment where children can heal and learn to make positive choices, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Invested in our young people

At GCR, we are deeply invested in the well-being and development of our young residents. We believe in nurturing their individual potential by creating a caring and supportive community. Our staff members are not just caregivers; they are mentors, role models, and advocates who are dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential. We actively encourage our young people to participate in self-development, through online courses, education and extracurricular activities.

Committed to fostering growth and resilience

Commitment to excellence

At Gratia Cura Residential, we are determined not to be just a roof over a Young Person's head. We are a personal company, started and run by social workers, and that ethos is consistent throughout our homes. Our directors will work shifts in the homes,  paint bedrooms, attend LAC reviews, personally speak to every company employee, and clean homes!

Our commitment to training our staff in evidence-based practice is unparalleled. We strive to surpass mandatory training, investing in our staff team to provide meaningful, strength- based interventions for our young people.

GCR is not just a place; it's a supportive family where children with EBD and LD can find hope, healing, and the tools they need to build a brighter future. We are committed to fostering growth, resilience, and lasting positive change in the lives of the young people who call our home their own.

On-site therapeutic support

One of the key features that sets us apart is our on-site therapist who provides comprehensive therapeutic support.

We understand that EBD often stems from deeper emotional and psychological challenges. Our therapist works closely with each child to address these underlying issues and equip them with coping strategies, emotional resilience, and communication skills. We have a dedicated psychotherapist in our home for therapy sessions using a Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma Recovery, to support this journey of recovery at a pace our Young People are comfortable with. This therapy support extends to our staff, to embed the support across every home.
This invaluable therapeutic support is a critical part of our holistic approach to care.

The heart of GCR lies in the hands of our directors, both of whom are qualified social workers with a strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Their extensive expertise ensures that every decision made within the home is in the best interest of the children in our care.

They are deeply involved in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that our standards of care and safety remain exceptional.
